Group 1

In the shelter we gathered materials like dead brown grass like beavers gathering 

woods, tarp, and wood to make a shelter. Julianne and Olivia put little branches to hold the tent,and Katie, Marie, and Cyrus used wood for a hammer. We cut lots of grass with scissors. Julianne and Olivia used scissors to cut grass. Julianne kept saying, “I’m tired of cutting grass.” But Olivia said, "We'll be done in no time."  Then, after we cut the grass we put them in the snow for our floor. We put the tarp  over our woods. We cut all the dead, brown waving grasses we need to survive in the brr cold. Olivia,  Julianne,  Katie, Marie, and Cyrus pull some of the soft grass off. Then, we took pictures in our shelter. Olivia, Julianne, Katie, Marie, and Cyrus put some heavy woods to hold our tarp down because it was flying in the wind. Cyrus said, "We should go to the mountains because there's more food there." Olivia, Julianne, Katie, Marie, and Cyrus are making a shelter to learn how to survive in the mountain near Bethel. "They might tell that they're going to the mountains".

 

Group 2

 

The hunter wanted to kill us we when we were at Bethel. Who was the government working with?  Today is April 5, 2121 Brr, Clinton, larry, Tony, Bobby, and I needed a good shelter to survive the cold long winter such as, elders used to make the shelters they made in the past. Some of us was freezing cold in the mountains, near Bethel because we had no warm clothes on. The leader, was Nanu, Clinton, and I made a shelter with blue tarp,  dead, brown grass. We are beavers gathering woods. The woods had thorns that were pokie and sharp. Then the other leader, was Clinton he made a bonfire , and Tony,Bobby, and larry was helping me making a better shelter because the shelter might fall apart.

 

Group 3

 

We were so cold that we couldn't move, we got so tired we rested at the cave and rested. Brr, Kalila, Abuss, David, and I were freezing when we were up in the mountains near bethel, first, we gathered some materials so we could start building a shelter such as ( string, tarp,  scissor, grass, and wood). Kalila and I attached the string between the  poles, After we secured the string we wrapped the  tarp on top of the string's. And David tied the string to the wood "What can I do?" said Abuss, "You can gather some grass" said David then they continued gathering grass And David gathered some dead, brown grasses like beaver gathering grass. third, we cut grass and put it in our brown tent so we don't get cold on top of the snow because it's always cold at night. After, that I tied a string around our tarp to close one side and the other side was our open entrance. And Abuss gathered some grass to use it as a floor but the grass was too long to cut. Kalila had to help others when they were outside especially, to learn how to make a shelter and we rested inside, "I think we are done" said Kalila as he waited. We came all the way from the mountains and it was cold over there.

 

 

Group 4

Today is April 5, 2121 before,  the world was a strange place because               the materials were hard to find, we need  a shelter to survive the  winter  because some of us were freezing cold in the mountain's near Bethel. And the leader was nanu, we made our shelter with blue tarp, dead grass and the grass felt like poking and got a rash, and dead woods. Then the other leader was Jayden, he made a bon fire, and the others were helping nanu to make the shelter  better. Therefore,  we found a place where there were plywood's that was almost placed like a shelter, and we put a tarp on top of the shelter then, we gather grass so we can place them in the shelter on the bottom can be warm to sleep on. Then we gather lots of firewood so we could make a fire and then we hunt animals with traps or scary snare's. After, we caught a white rabbit then we cooked the white rabbit. And the rabbit tasted delicious yumm. Like beavers gathering woods.  "Yes"! We had found woods to our shelter better and to make a bon fire.                           

                     

 

                  April 10, 2121 after, we had a hard long time building a shelter,the wood helped the tarp calm down like a friend. The difficulty was having to cut grasses that had to make our hand bleed. Also trying to cut down woods without chainsaw. Making our shelter with different material's. Then we had to use plywood for hamer. We had to look for a lot of material's. We had to use grass for the ground so we can be warm. "Omg" we are done with the shelter!!!

 

 

Group 5

 Were not gonna survive if were not quick enough. The hunter is coming. Fast. So, Carl, Shaylene, Dimitri and I were building a shelter, But before we built it, we would have to gather these materials. The materials we gathered were wood, brown, hard grass for insulation, a blue, huge tarp to cover the top and the inside for seat. We knew that we had to gather these because we interviewed elders who told us what the shelters were back then. We used what the elders told us to survive. Shaylene and Dimitri had to get a bunch of dead grass for insulation so, we wouldn't be shivering dogs, "we need more grass", I said. Dimitri reponded back saying, " we have enough". We also used the grass for the "floor", the grass crackled. Carl gathered black/brown, thick wood to let the tarp not fly or the inside wouldn't get cold like a freezing winter day, " Alingnaqvaa", said Carl. The entire village was burned to a crisp,  "whoa!", said Dimitri. We used the scrap of woods that were just standing asking us to use them for our shelter, I grabbed the tarp from the mountains, Shaylene found the rope. However, we are trying to 

survive. We were really quick because the hunter was close. We knew the hunter was coming because we could hear the snow machine zooming fast. We survived, and know how to build a shelter quick. 

  

October 17, 2150 Location: kasigluk 

 

We are going to die, if this isn't done. We need to be quick. It was cold and we 

gathered materials to make our shelter near the old school. Carl, Dimitri, Shaylene and I knew to build it by the old school because we think it was warm and because we think the hunter wouldn't check. While Dimitri picked hard grass,"OUCH!" it was like a needle poking our hands, he said. It felt like we were going to spend a eternity building the shelter and making it perfect, so we won't be cold night time and in the morning, " it's gonna take so long", I said. Then, Carl responded, "if we keep working, will get done."So, we used the warm grass for insulation and 

flooring, and it felt like the grasses were scratching our fingers. And when shaylene and I were done insulating, Carl put a nice, long tarp over for a "roof" and for "walls", "Assirpaa". It didn't take us long to build our homemade shelter, but we thought it would be long to built it. We had some useful materials to built it. We now know what materials will need, how to build it, and how good it has to be. We got done in no time!

Group 6

Teddy, Hannah, Stephanie, and I  were freezing like a freezer full of icicles.  When we were up on the mountains near Bethel, so we gathered some materials so we could start to build a shelter ( String, Tarp,  Scissors, Grass, and Wood). 

Stephanie and I attached the string between the poles, After we secured the string we wrapped tarp on top of the string. And we tied the string to the wood. Then  we gathered some dead, brown grass like beavers gathering wood. We cut grass and put it in our tent so we don't get cold on top of the snow. After that we tied a string around our brown tarp to close one side and the other side was our open entrance. And we gathered grass to use it as a floor.We had helped each other when we were outside to learn to make a shelter and we rested inside. We came all the way from the mountains to get away from the crazy hunter and to have some time to gather 

materials to get us situated and together to make sure we're safe from the hunter.All of a sudden we heard a snow-go not too far away.We panicked like monkeys because the hunter is a killer.We all knew that he was a killer.
